PSG's Cher Ndour eyes Ligue 1 loan move for next step
After returning from a short loan spell at Sporting Braga, Cher Ndour is set for another loan move, this time potentially within Ligue 1. The 20-year-old midfielder, who arrived at PSG over a year ago from Benfica after declining his first professional contract, is still not in Luis Enrique's immediate plans. His departure in the coming weeks is anticipated.
Ndour, known for his atypical midfield profile, combines an imposing physical presence with a fine technique that might not be immediately apparent. Although he is considered a promising talent, he needs more playing time to continue his development. PSG intends to allow him to advance like his stint at Braga, where he made 11 appearances last season.

PSG's Cher Ndour eyes Ligue 1 loan move for next step
This time, however, Ndour is unlikely to return to Portugal, despite the possibility of Braga welcoming him back. Instead, the young Italian international is keen to stay in France to adapt to the local league's unique characteristics. Reports suggest that at least three top-flight French clubs are interested in securing his services, indicating his growing reputation. A loan move within Ligue 1 could therefore be finalized relatively smoothly.
Ndour’s goal remains to establish himself at PSG in the medium term. With his contract running until 2028, he has ample time to achieve this. His development is crucial, especially given the challenges he faces. Observing him during the Maurice-Revello Tournament in Toulon with the Italy U23 team in June revealed his exceptional blend of power and technique.
His gameplay remains inconsistent, a concern for a player whose preferred role is a central midfielder. Ndour's ability to perform off the ball and adapt to the pace of senior football are areas needing improvement. Although he has shown progress over the past season, particularly between his initial U23 matches and later performances, refining his role and performance remains essential for his future success.
