PSG is trying to pull off a major midfield signing with the recruitment of Joshua Kimmich. While the deal for Joao Neves seems nearly finalized, the experience of the German international could also be welcomed and desired by the club's management.

The midfield has been identified by Luis Enrique and his team as an area that needs strengthening. With Manuel Ugarte rumored to be heading to Manchester United, the arrival of Joao Neves is still expected in Paris, and another midfielder could join the PSG squad.

PSG's ambitious move, luring Kimmich from Bayern

Since last winter, Joshua Kimmich's name has been echoing in Paris, and a few months later, amid the summer transfer window, the interest is still active.

According to our colleagues at Sky Sport in Germany, "PSG is continuing to work on the Kimmich transfer." Having returned to training on Monday, July 29, the Euro 2024 quarter-finalist with Germany might not stay in Bavaria for long. Journalist Florian Plettenberg highlights PSG's particular interest in Joshua Kimmich, who, if he doesn't leave Bayern Munich this summer, could leave for free in 2025.

With only one year left on his contract, the versatile midfielder is not expected to be held back by his club if a convincing offer is presented to the Bavarian leaders. They are aware of PSG's interest, and PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and coach Luis Enrique hope the deal will go through.

On the other side of the Rhine, discussions are expected to take place between Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich to refine each party's positions for the future. It is at this point that PSG will know whether to be more aggressive in their pursuit of the 29-year-old player.
