PSG loses top talent as Gadou eyes pro deal elsewhere
Joane Gadou is one of the top talents from PSG's youth academy. However, the central defender will not be signing his first professional contract with his home club. PSG has considered Mathys Angely as a potential replacement.
PSG boasts one of the best youth academies in France, with many young players knocking on the door of the first team each year. Some manage to secure a spot in the Parisian squad, while others leave their formative club without signing a professional contract. This will be the case for Joane Gadou. Still under an amateur contract until June 2025, he will leave PSG this summer to sign his first professional contract elsewhere.

The young central defender (17 years old, 1.95m) made a few appearances with Luis Enrique's squad last season but did not get the chance to play with PSG's first team in an official match, unlike some of his U19 teammates, Yoram Zague or Senny Mayulu. Despite the PSG management's efforts to convince him to sign his first professional contract in Paris over the past few months, Joane Gadou has declined the offer.
According to recent rumors, he never felt that PSG had a clear plan for him to progress quickly to the first team. By leaving this summer, the French U18 international will provide a transfer fee to the Rouge & Bleu, a factor he considers important.
Loic Tanzi, a journalist covering PSG for L'Equipe, reports that the club's management had suspected for some time that their young talent would leave. Some of them had inquired with Bordeaux's sporting director, Admar Lopes, about Mathys Angely, a young central defender (17 years old), before the latter joined Wolfsburg.
