PSG in talks with Spanish club to sell midfielder for €15 million
By Manuel Meza
Under contract with PSG until 2027 but no longer in the club's plans, Carlos Soler could be transferred to Real Sociedad during the summer transfer window.
With two goals and four assists in 28 appearances for PSG this season, Carlos Soler has only played 1277 minutes under Luis Enrique and is one of the players PSG is looking to sell in the summer transfer window. His name has been linked to Unai Emery's Aston Villa as well as Villarreal, but the hottest lead takes him to the Basque Country.
On May 28th, COPE reported that Real Sociedad was negotiating with PSG for his transfer and hoped to finalize the deal for around €15 million. The source added that the former Valencia player wanted to leave PSG this summer on a permanent transfer and preferred Real Sociedad over other options.

Real Sociedad still negotiating with PSG for Soler
This Tuesday, the Spanish radio station provided an update on the Basque club's transfer market and confirmed that the recent 6th-place Liga finishers are still negotiating with PSG for Carlos Soler's transfer, hoping not to spend more than €15 million.
COPE didn't provide new details but noted that the presidents of both clubs, Nasser Al-Khelaifi (PSG) and Jokin Aperribay (Real Sociedad), are both members of the ECA and have a good relationship, which could facilitate negotiations.
It's also worth noting that the Aston Villa option has cooled off for Carlos Soler since the English club has almost completed the transfer of Ross Barkley, a midfielder who is more defensive than Carlos Soler but also operates in a central role.
Barkley, who has previously played for Nice, had an impressive season with Luton Town and is close to returning to Aston Villa, where he was on loan during the 2020/2021 season.
