PSG Feminine: Latest transfer news roundup
By Hidayah Ali
With an unsatisfying season for Paris Saint-Germain Feminine approaching its finale this weekend and no titles added to their cabinet, the fans' attention will now turn to the summer transfer window as PSG hope to bolster their squad and have a stronger side up to the challenges sure to come next season.
Many players have contracts expiring, and nothing has yet been confirmed on who will no longer be a part of PSG's squad.
Let's take a look at the current situations of certain players, according to Women's Transfer News.
Players Leaving PSG
Kheira Hamraoui, Marina Georgieva, Sarah Bouhaddi, Berglind Bjorg Thorvalsdottir, Ashley Lawrence
After recent reports from different media outlets, Ashley Lawrence has already agreed on a deal with English club Chelsea and will leave after the final matchday of the D1 Arkema season this upcoming weekend.
For the other players mentioned above, there isn't much to say as of now. However, those departures look possible, especially for Georgieva and Thorvalsdottir, who haven't been a major part of the team since joining PSG.
Sarah Bouhaddi is quite an experienced goalkeeper and has had a decent first season with PSG. But the club already has two other keepers worth playing who have usually overtook the veteran on the lineup.
Kheira Hamraoui is a crucial part of the midfield and she has been one of the side's strongest players these last few matches. A transfer of the French international could be on the cards, though, if a good offer for her arrives from a European club.
Players Staying at PSG
Ramona Bachmann
Despite having a poor season, the Switzerland international is expected to stay at the Parisian club, and at the time of this writing that's the likeliest outcome. The number 10 has been an essential player since joining, and it would be hard to imagine her leaving anytime soon.
Players still in negotiations with PSG
Amanda Ilestedt, Li Mengwen
Ilestedt has been on the sidelines for half the season due to injury, but the Swedish player has been a fundamental part of the squad since she arrived from Bayern Munich. PSG and the player seem likely to want to continue their time together.
Li Mengwen joined PSG during the summer of 2022 on a loan from Jiangsu LFC. She has gotten playing time in almost every match and has been an excellent addition to the club.
PSG will enter talks and start negations with the player and her club, although it is yet unknown if those talks will lead to a successful finish and whether Li Mengwen will stay in the capital for a few more seasons or not if she ends up joining the PSG under a full-time contract.
Other players with contracts ending at PSG and futures pending
Kadidatou Diani, Laurina Fazer, and Barbora Votikova also have uncertain futures, but there isn't much news on the subjects.
Diani is one of PSG's leading players, and it seems pretty impossible that we will be hearing any transfer news about her. It is expected that different clubs across the continent will at least be trying to sign her, but Diani staying with PSG for one more season at the very least is the likely outcome of this saga.
Laurina Fazer has been quite the young talent for her club and country, and Manchester City is trying to persuade the player to join them this summer.
There is no news on goalkeeper Votikova. She's spent this season without any playing time for the club but she's been considered the GK1 of PSG since becoming a Parisian.
Though Grace Geyoro has a contract running till the summer of 2024, Chelsea are still hoping to sign the PSG captain this summer with her teammate Ashley Lawrence already reportedly on the move over to London.
