This summer, PSG sought to strengthen its attack, with the name of Victor Osimhen frequently mentioned. However, according to Luis Campos, PSG never made an offer for the Nigerian international.
PSG aimed to bolster its forward line following Kylian Mbappe's potential departure. Several strikers were considered, including Victor Osimhen. Although the Nigerian striker was open to leaving, Napoli set a high price tag for their number 9, demanding over €100 million.
PSG was reluctant to meet this amount, especially with Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos already in their squad. After Ramos suffered an injury that sidelined him for three months, PSG reportedly reconsidered their position towards the end of the transfer window.

During his appearance at the TF Summit, PSG’s sporting advisor Luis Campos was asked about PSG’s interest in Osimhen. The Portuguese executive clarified that the club never submitted an offer for the striker:
"Osimhen was naturally analyzed as one of the options. Our conclusion was that we were very satisfied with Goncalo Ramos, Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio, and no offer was made. We discussed Osimhen, as we did with other strikers"
Luis Campos also explained that PSG did consider Victor Osimhen as an option during their transfer discussions. However, after assessing their current squad, which includes Goncalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio, they decided not to make an offer for Osimhen.
"We have an excellent relationship and mutual respect, just like with other players who are good people and professionals"
Campos acknowledged that people often associate him with the Nigerian striker due to their past relationship, as he was the one who brought Osimhen to Lille from Charleroi. He highlighted the strong bond and mutual respect they share, much like he does with other players he has worked with throughout his career.
Victor Osimhen was also linked with clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal over the summer.
