Following their disappointing 1-0 loss in Borussia Dortmund, PSG faced further adversity as the club announced a somber medical update on Thursday.

The report sadly confirmed that Lucas Hernandez, the talented defender, had sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the match, effectively ending his season prematurely.

Lucas Hernandez's injury, though feared by many, was officially confirmed after he was substituted due to the injury during the match against Dortmund. An MRI scan conducted on Thursday solidified the diagnosis, revealing the severity of the anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee.

This setback marks a significant blow for Hernandez, who had previously endured a similar injury to his right knee while representing the French national team during the last World Cup in Qatar.

The timing of the injury is particularly unfortunate, as it not only concludes his season with PSG but also rules him out of participation in the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament with the French national team in Germany this summer.

The news of Hernandez's injury comes as a disappointment to PSG, as the defender had been a key figure in the team's lineup, having played 41 matches this season in the club's iconic red and blue colors. His absence will undoubtedly be felt as PSG navigates the remaining fixtures of the season.

Despite the setback, PSG remains determined to push forward. With the return leg against Dortmund on the horizon, the club must regroup and refocus in the absence of Hernandez.

While the loss of Hernandez is undoubtedly a setback, PSG remains resilient and committed to finishing the season on a high note, and they will look to overcome this and continue their pursuit of success both domestically and in Europe.
