Now officially a Manchester United player, Manuel Ugarte has shared a heartfelt message following his departure from PSG.

After just one year, Ugarte, who was signed last summer from Sporting CP for €60 million, is already leaving PSG. Having lost his starting position throughout the 2023-2024 season, the 23-year-old Uruguayan is joining Manchester United in a permanent transfer. In this deal, PSG will receive €50 million plus €10 million in bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer of the player.

Following his departure, the former PSG number 4 posted an emotional message on social media:

"Today, it’s time for me to say goodbye with mixed feelings. I cannot help but thank you all for the support you have given me. Your encouragement, passion, and unconditional support made every moment special. It’s a shame that my time here didn’t meet my expectations."

"I came with high hopes and a desire to succeed, but sometimes things don’t go as planned. Nevertheless, I leave with wonderful memories and valuable lessons that I will always cherish... Even though my journey ends here, I wish you all the best for the future."

During his one season with the Reds & Blues, the Uruguayan international played 37 matches, provided 3 assists and won three trophies (Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions).

For Ugarte, this move is a great opportunity to restart his career and play a key role in a team that fits his style. Fabrizio Romano says the deal was set at €50 million plus €10 million in bonuses, and PSG will keep a 10% sell-on clause.

The standard medical examination was conducted on Wednesday morning, after which the former PSG player signed a deal with the Red Devils, binding him to the club until June 2029. Furthermore, Manchester United's official announcement highlighted that Ugarte has the opportunity to extend his contract for an extra year.
