PSG is reportedly committed to creating a strong team for the present and the future built around Kylian Mbappe while breaking the MNM once and for all next summer after having Neymar and Lionel Messi in tow together for just two years. The Brazil international, though, doesn't have any need or willingness to leave Paris.

Before Paris Saint-Germain could start working on the future squad for the next season and beyond some departures will need to be made official.

The leading players in wages at PSG are, obviously, the MNM trio consisting of Mbappe, Neymar, and Messi. The former is the key to PSG's project. The latter's contract run out next summer and his wage won't feature in the payroll anymore. What about Neymar, then?

PSG have explored the market in the past trying to unload the Brazil legend without having any luck as there is a lack of potential landing spots and clubs interested in the talented South American. That could change next summer, though, as PSG and Premier League side Chelsea have already discussed a transfer in the past and might keep talking until reaching an agreement through the next transfer window.

The president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, might have to deal with a serious problem: Neymar doesn't want to leave Paris any time soon and plans to fulfill his contract, which runs out in June 2027.

Neymar wants to play against Bayern on Mar. 8 and at PSG until his contract runs out

According to L'Equipe, in a note published on Monday, not only does Neymar "intend to do everything possible to face Bayern Munich on Mar. 8," but he is also "thinking about his future in Paris in the longer term."

L'Equipe goes on to say that the Brazilian would have decided to stay at PSG no matter what Messi does next and once his contract runs out by the end of this season. Whether Messi stays or goes is of no importance for Neymar and his future at PSG, says the French newspaper.

The 31-year-old, who failed once more in leading Brazil to a World Cup title last December, is convinced that "PSG can dream bigger in the Champions League" and he is "loving his position" as the no. 10 of PSG.

It's widely known that PSG would like to sell Neymar to retool their squad around Mbappe. Paris Saint-Germain already tried to find a purchaser last summer but failed at that, mostly because of the gaudy €4M-per-week salary on Neymar's ongoing contract with PSG, which also spans until the summer of 2027.

L'Equipe informs that "Neymar is not willing to leave a club in which he now feels good," and as long as that is the case PSG will have it hard to unload the Brazilian.

Only two potential buyers have approached PSG in the parts and entered (at least preliminary) talks with the French club: Chelsea and Newcastle.

Next. PSG to build around Mbappe, look for Neymar and Messi exits. dark

Neymar is determined to keep playing football in the French capital whether that is with long-time friend Messi next to him or not, even if that means sharing the pitch with board-favorite Mbappe. PSG might have to eat the contract they offered Neymar two years ago and deal with it for four more seasons.
