PSG's situation

PSG called up a somewhat underpopulated group, with only 19 players who will make the trip to England. Among those absent, Nuno Mendes, Presnel Kimpembe, Marco Asensio, and Kang-In Lee stand out. The Parisians are coming off a disappointing draw against the last-placed team in Ligue 1, Clermont. However, at the end of said match, Luis Enrique declared that in his opinion they deserved the victory.

The Spanish strategist has tried different tactical designs in his lineups, such as a 3-4-3 or a 3-3-4. Both appear during the course of the match depending on the context. However, although the standing/drawing changes, this is not the case with the essence of the strategy, that is, offensive and ball possession football.

Newcastle's situation

After a good run of five games without conceding a goal, Newcastle coach Eddie Howe presented his team to the press as “very good defensively.” A true sign of confidence before challenging PSG and its attack force led by Kylian Mbappe.

Questioned by the press this Saturday after the victory against Burnley (2-0), Newcastle coach Eddie Howe gave a very complimentary speech about his team: “I think we are in a good moment. Defensively we are very good and it seems like we can score, we should have scored more (against Burnley). I think the mood is very good. (…) If we can face all the Champions League games that await us with so much confidence, with good form and good rhythm, then we will have a greater chance of success.”
