Brazil international and PSG defender and captain Marquinhos played his 400th game for Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday on the lawn of Nice in a 2-0 win by PSG.

The Allianz Riviera witnessed Marquinhos flip another 100-game page and extend his resume and list of accolades since he started donning Parisian threads almost 10 years ago when he arrived from Italy's side AS Roma.

Saturday's outing was Marquinhos' 400th game in all competitions with PSG. The center-back is now third in the list of players to appear in the most games for the club, only trailing Jean-Marc Pilorget (435 matches) and teammate Marco Verratti (409).

According to the club numbers, Marquinhos has appeared in 262 Ligue 1 games, 31 in the Coupe de France, 20 in the Coupe de la Ligue, 6 in the Trophées des Champions, and 81 in the UEFA Champions League.

Interestingly, Marquinhos has faced AS Saint-Etienne (now in the second division) the most times with 21 matches against them, ahead of Olympique Marseille and Stade Rennais (both 20 times).

Marquinhos, on the verge of extending his contract with PSG until 2027

The latest whispers appearing in the press point toward Marquinhos being reportedly "on the verge" of inking a contract extension that would have him linked to the Paris Saint-Germain organization until the summer of 2027, prolonging his stance in the French capital for three more seasons on top of his current deal (expiring in 2024).

Both sporting advisor Luis Campos and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi are convinced this is the right thing to do and they put no hurdles on Marquinhos' path toward an extension, one the Brazilian and current captain of PSG has long wanted to sign.
