Manchester United poised to snatch PSG's Ugarte in €60m shocker
By Manuel Meza
In their search for midfield reinforcements, Manchester United seems to have marked Manuel Ugarte as a target. One year after he arrives at PSG, the Uruguayan might not stay long under the Parisian skies and could join the north of England.
For several days now, Manuel Ugarte has been linked with a move away from PSG, particularly to Manchester United. The Premier League club's officials appear to have set their sights on the Rouge & Bleu's number 4.

With a reinforcement expected in the north of England, the Red Devils are reportedly making a significant push to secure Ugarte's services. According to Christopher Michel, a journalist for Sport 1 in Germany, PSG is asking for 60 million euros to recoup the amount spent a year ago when they signed the Uruguayan midfielder by paying his release clause from Sporting Portugal.
For Manchester United's management, the fair price is 42 million euros. A compromise might be reached, and the Manchester board remains optimistic about the feasibility and outcome of the operation. According to Transfermarkt, Manuel Ugarte's market value is estimated at 45 million euros, and he is under contract with PSG until June 2028.
The 37 matches in all competitions during his first season with PSG could be his only ones in the Rouge & Bleu jersey. It's worth noting that the player is currently in the Copa America semi-finals with Marcelo Bielsa's Uruguay.
