Last Saturday evening, PSG concluded their season with a Coupe de France victory. But Luis Enrique is already looking ahead to the next season.

PSG has just wrapped up their 2023-2024 season with a domestic treble, but Luis Enrique has no plans to rest and is already preparing for the upcoming campaign. After the Coupe de France final win against Olympique Lyonnais (1-2), the Parisian coach projected his thoughts on the next season in the post-match press conference.

Was it the best first period of the season? Does it resemble the team you want for next year?

"No, not for me. I believe I must first congratulate all the players without exception, the entire club, and all the exceptional supporters. This is the team I was looking for, the one I was expecting, a team that doesn't fear, never calculates, very offensive, presses aggressively, and has been filled with tremendous energy all year. It's not my role to choose just one period. We were great throughout this final. Again, congratulations to the team. I wanted to play one more week and not go on vacation. That's life and the game. I give a 10/10 to all my players for the entire season."

What did you think of Kylian Mbappe's last game with PSG?

"It's been a great privilege to be his coach. It was a very tough season because it was his last here. He always wanted to help his team, like tonight. He's unique. He's irreplaceable! Don't look for it! It's the team that will replace him, not just one player but five or six. We'll have to improve. We want to make history, and we'll eventually win the Champions League. When? I don't know. But yes, we'll win it."

How do you rate Vitinha's season?

"For me, he's the player of the season. If we add his football qualities, he's the best in the whole team, yet all the players are good. But he's exceptional."

Will you take a break for vacation or follow PSG's transfer market?

"It's the end of the season, but negotiations begin. We'll try to strengthen the squad. We'll try to have a good transfer window. We need to consider the players' adaptation time. There are no vacations in football. I'll be in touch every day with the president and Luis Campos. I won't go to the Euros, and I'll watch them on TV, where they're very visible. That way, I can watch while having a beer. Or two. Or one per half (smile)."

Were you aware of the pre-match incidents?

"No. When there's this kind of news, we and the players don't always know what's going on. I regret what happened and, in general, all the violence that occurs in football. It must be eradicated in France, Spain, and around the world. The game must convey positive values. And it's only by uniting that we will succeed in eradicating these incidents."
