Paris Saint-Germain's Laurina Fazer spoke out about the 2022/23 season and her journey in Paris in an interview conceded to the PSG official website. She also shared a few thoughts that could be linked to where her future is set to take place next season.
Laurina Fazer has been a big name when it came to upcoming talents in France and she's kept on proving his worth at PSG during last season.
Fazer said it was disappointing for the team not to win a single trophy, but they're still holding onto the positives and that "Next season, we'll be trying to rectify what didn't work this season."
The 19-year-old was able to get more minutes on the pitch this season, and that's what she toke from the season as she said, "Getting my playing time was one of my goals; I'm happy with that."
Fazer has officially made 50 professional appearances for PSG, and she mentioned that the game against Bayern Munich in the 21/22 season had the most significant impact on her so far "It was a feeling I'd never experienced before, and I was thrilled it was at the Parc (Parc Des Princes) in front of my friends and family."
The French youngster's contract ends in the next few weeks, and clubs such as Manchester City have been reported to have an interest in signing Fazer.
At this point, though, nothing is clear about her future. However, a statement made by Laurina may hint at what her career holds as she mentioned that she "feels good with the team," and is "thrilled to be in Paris."
Quite the positive words coming from a player who could be leaving, and by the sounds of it, PSG could be the destination she'd rather have. Now, it just depends on what PSG will do, and fans were quick to demand the club an extension of their player after hearing her words.
Fazer was nominated once again for the D1 Arkema young talent award after winning it the year before but wasn't able to claim it this time, losing out to Melchie Dumornay. But, she added a trophy to her collection due to winning the young talent award in the UNFP awards.
Fazer was one of the eight players to be chosen for France's preliminary squad and the 10th PSG player to be selected for a World Cup squad after Amanda Ilestedt and Lieke Martens got their calls for duty.
"I hope to be called up for the World Cup, and why not try to get some playing time during the competition too? All great players have to set big goals, so I hope to achieve them."
Nothing is decided when it comes to which players will make the final cut for the squad traveling to Australia and New Zealand, but Fazer will certainly hope to be one of them.
Fazer ended her thoughts by adding "Thank you for all and for always being there for us!"
