Juventus vs PSG - Jade Le Guilly pre-match interview

Jade, PSG is about to enter the Champions League; what does this competition mean to you?

“This competition is grand for everyone. When I was younger, I used to watch the men’s matches, and there was always a great atmosphere. It’s a high-level competition with intense matches. The Champions League is something to aspire to, and now that I’m playing in it, winning it becomes a goal."

What is the team’s mindset going into this match?

"We communicate a lot among ourselves, but everyone knows the objectives and the steps needed to progress and continue in this competition. We’re facing Juventus, a strong team, and it will be a very good match. It’s a great way to dive fully into this competition."

We’re expecting a competitive match…

"When you’re playing in the Champions League, you know you’re up against high-intensity matches with top players. Juventus has a storied history; they are very familiar with the Champions League, making them a formidable opponent to start the competition."

There’s also the return leg to play at home…

"It’s advantageous to have the return leg at home; we know the Campus well, it’s our working environment. We train there every day, and we know our supporters are always there for Champions League matches. They will cheer us on strongly, creating a fantastic atmosphere. We’ll give everything to win that match."

Finally, the Champions League is back for both men and women. We’re looking forward to it and to focusing on what comes next. PSG women’s team is starting off with a tough qualifier against a strong team, which could potentially be a challenging or tricky game.

We’ll have to think about the return leg if the first match doesn’t go well, but even if the match in Italy goes smoothly, it’s the start of the season and there are few certainties. We know the competition is fierce, but PSG has a strong team ready to fight in Europe. This team also has something to prove after a few challenging years.
