According to a recent report, former Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele could surprisingly leave PSG to make a return to Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly looking to bring back one of their former stars, Ousmane Dembele, who could make a sensational return to the Bundesliga club after a challenging spell in Paris, according to Fichajes.

Following his high-profile move from Barcelona, the French winger was expected to make a significant impact in the French capital.

However, his relationship with current PSG manager Luis Enrique has been less than ideal, leading to growing speculation about a possible loan move back to Borussia Dortmund.

The German club, where Dembele once flourished, seems reportedly keen to provide him with the platform to reignite his career.

Borussia Dortmund, who sold Dembele to Barcelona in 2017 for a then-record fee of €148 million, are now considering the prospect of re-signing their former talisman on loan at the end of the season, says the Spanish outlet.

During his initial stint in Dortmund, Dembele was a key figure in the squad, dazzling fans with his pace and creativity, which ultimately earned him his big-money move to the Spanish giants.

Now, the Bundesliga side appears eager to restore the dynamic version of Dembele that became such a crucial part of their success in those years.

Fichajes explains that from PSG's perspective, a loan move might be a practical solution to the current dilemma.

The strained relationship between Dembele and Luis Enrique could not only hamper his performances but also risk devaluing the player's market worth, something the PSG hierarchy is said to be keen to avoid.

If the situation continues to deteriorate, the winger may see his playing time reduced, which would directly impact his value in upcoming transfer windows.

Putting the report aside, it must be said that as of today, this seems extremely unlikely. In fact, Dembele returned to the starting lineup this Sunday against OGC Nice and provided an assist.
