Arriving as a free agent last summer, the Spanish forward Marco Asensio could leave PSG a year later and find a new opportunity in Turkey.

While PSG's efforts to strengthen the squad have intensified recently, as seen with the Jadon Sancho pursuit, the Parisian board will also need to offload some players. Several players have been listed as undesirable by the club’s management: Renato Sanches, Juan Bernat, Colin Dagba, Ismael Gharbi, Ilyes Housni, Louis Mouquet, Noha Lemina, and Vimoj Muntu wa Mungu. However, other members of the squad might also leave depending on the offers, and this could include Marco Asensio.

The 28-year-old Spaniard arrived as a free agent last summer from Real Madrid, signing a contract with PSG until June 2026. But after a difficult season, his time with the Rouge & Bleu could end sooner than expected.

Asensio's PSG exit, turkish move on the horizon?

According to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, Besiktas is interested in acquiring the former Madrid player. From the start of his stint at PSG, the number 11 suffered a foot injury that kept him off the pitch for nearly three months.

With the rising prominence of Fabian Ruiz in midfield and Bradley Barcola in attack, opportunities became scarce in the Parisian starting eleven during the second half of the season. As a result, Marco Asensio was often used as a substitute (31 matches in all competitions, with 5 goals and 7 assists).

According to the Turkish media, PSG has opened the door to the Spanish international's departure, who was not called up by La Roja for Euro 2024. This decision was approved by coach Luis Enrique. Unsatisfied with his season in Paris, Marco Asensio is reportedly open to the idea of a new experience. Besiktas, on the other hand, seems inclined towards a loan deal for the player, following the unsuccessful pursuit of Angel Di Maria, concludes Fanatik.
