There are still positives to an already lost season by PSG after the Parisian crashed out of both the Coupe de France (against Olympique Marseille, 1-2) and the Champions League (against Bayern Munich, 0-3 on aggregate) during the past few weeks of play.

The Ligue 1 is still clearly going to be won by PSG when all is said and done and barring a catastrophe, but more than that, there are still some interesting storylines and statistical feats to be accomplished by the players of Christophe Galtier.

Here are some of the feats that PSG and their players can still achieve during the next few weeks and until the final game of the season.

Finish Ligue 1 with the most points in history

A good end to the season would necessarily be synonymous with an almost flawless run of results.

PSG went undefeated for the first 16 matchdays of the Ligue 1, and they can still do the same for the last 15 including their recent wins (four) and the 11 games yet to be played.

There is still a chance that PSG earns the most points in the history of Ligue 1, beating their prior record of 96 set in the 2015-16 season.

For that to happen, PSG will need to win at least 10 games or, somehow, add 30 more points to their current tally (they have 66 points on 27 games played).

The most possible points they can still win is 33, which would put PSG on the verge of 100 points falling just one short of that mark with 99 in the event of winning out the remainder of their scheduled matchups.

Improve the goals-against numbers

In their past four games in all competitions, PSG have allowed three goals against Lille, two against Nantes, two against Bayern, and one against Brest.

PSG have played 16 games in the 2023 calendar year, and in 13 of those they allowed at least one goal to their opponents. In total, opposing attackers have found the net of Paris Saint-Germain 22 times since January 1.

Throughout the whole season to date, PSG average one goal conceded per game, which currently has the French leaders outside of the top-20 teams in terms of their defensive numbers in Europe.

Between the errors of Sergio Ramos and the bad luck of Gianluigi Donnarumma, things have been tough for PSG's backline. It will be hard to fix all of the defensive woes at this point, but some improvement should be on Galtier's agenda with more than 10 games to improve on the defensive department.

Kylian Mbappe's chase of a historic fifth Ligue 1 top-goalscorer award

After becoming the top scorer in the history of PSG (201, although he already has 202 goals and counting), Mbappe can also tie several legends of the French championship this season.

For Mbappe to do that, he would need to win his fifth consecutive Ligue 1 top-scorer award. That's something only Jean-Pierre Papin, Delio Onnis, and Carlos Bianchi have done in the past.

After scoring the game-winning goal against Brest last weekend, Mbappe now leads the race with 19 goals in the Ligue 1.
