3 PSG players who shined despite the 0-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund
By Oscar Cortes
In an unfortunate match for the Parisians, they failed to secure a draw at Signal Iduna Park, where their lack of effectiveness led to them not scoring and losing to Dortmund 1-0.
For PSG, not everything was negative. While the defeat left the French team in a difficult position for the return leg to be played at the Parc des Princes, several players showed great commitment and a high level of performance during the match.
Here are three players who stood out for PSG in this Champions League semifinal:
1. Vitinha
The Portuguese continues to establish himself, not only as PSG's best midfielder but also as one of the best footballers in the world. His performance against Dortmund was crucial for maintaining balance in the Parisian midfield, where he displayed both attacking and defensive prowess, striving to create goals through the depth and vision of his passes.
His statistics were impressive with 93 touches in the match. Vitinha had a passing accuracy of 95% (78/82), with 12 of those passes in the final third of the pitch. A player who gives his all for the PSG shirt.
2. Marquinhos
The PSG captain was instrumental in keeping the scoreline at just 1-0. His contribution extends beyond defense, with the captain also providing 13 passes in the final third of the pitch and coming close to providing an assist, only to be denied by Fabian Ruiz's misguided header.
Defensively, his standout moments included his retreats and, above all, a crucial sliding tackle to prevent a goal from Julian Brandt.

3. Achraf Hakimi
In a match with a challenging defensive task, the Moroccan managed to contain Dortmund's winger Adeyemi. Throughout the 90 minutes, Hakimi won 50% of his one-on-one duels (6/12). Hakimi is recognized in this match for his attitude in every aspect of the game, with his attacking contributions always promising for PSG.
Hakimi finished the match with 89 touches and provided 3 key passes, with one of them resulting in a significant goal-scoring opportunity.
