The back-to-back Champions League winners are set to face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup final, which will be there first competitive game of the season with a first trophy in the balance. Before this game, the Parisians played two friendlies against RCD Mallorca and Manchester United. They failed to secure a win conceding a heavy 3-0 loss against the Spanish side while securing a 1-1 draw against the Red Devils.

Luis Enrique played both games without several key players who are slowly making their return from holidays following the 2026 World Cup. On Monday, August 10th, the last players will make their return to the squad with 2026 World Cup winner Fabian Ruiz and all the French players, including new signing Lucas Digne making their return just two days before the clash. It will therefore be highly unlikely to see them feature against the Villans.

Nonetheless, Les Rouges et Bleus and Luis Enrique should be able to field a very competitive side on August 12 at the Red Bull Arena.

Here is Les Parisiens' predicted starting XI against the Villans.

PSG Predicted Lineup vs. Aston Villa (4-3-3)

GK: Matvey Safonov - The Russian international should be the number one option this season again despite the upcoming arrival of Zion Suzuki from Parma. He will need to improve his level to remain in his position, and he could start by helping bringing another trophy to the French capitol.

RB: David Boly - The young PSG prospect could have the opportunity to start this game against Villa if Achraf Hakimi is not feat to start.

CB: Illia Zabarnyi - The Ukraine international did not take part in the 2026 World Cup and took part in all of PSG's friendly games ahead of their UEFA Super Cup clash against Aston Villa. While his first campaign with the club was not up to the expectations, he will have an opportunity to start his second in great fashion.

CB: Willian Pacho - The Ecuador international will start against Unai Emery's Villa in Paris' first competitive game of the season. He could be partnered with Marquinhos, but the Brazilian returned recently and Luis Enrique should give the nod to Zabarnyi who has more fitness.

LB: Nuno Mendes - The Portuguese will likely start this game despite only coming back recently from holidays as he featured 30 min against Man United.

CDM: Lucas Beraldo - The Brazilian should start alongside Vitinha and Joao Neves in midfield against Villa in the absences of Warren Zaire-Emery and Fabian Ruiz.

CM: Vitinha - The Portuguese will start in midfield in the Super Cup.

CM: Joao Neves - He should start this upcoming game. He shouldn't be able to play 90 minutes, just like Vitinha and Nuno Mendes.

RW: Ibrahim Mbaye  - He will have a rare opportunity to shine with PSG in their first competitive game of the season. While several of the first-team starters are set to miss the game, he will be able to showcase his talent and certainly earn a move away from the club before the start of the campaign.

LW: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - The Georgian will be the main offensive threat of this PSG team against Villa.

ST: Senny Mayulu - The PSG Academy graduate should be the one leading the line for PSG against Aston Villa.
