Following the international break, Paris will travel to the Chaudron to face relegation-threatened Saint-Etienne on Matchday 27 of the Ligue 1 McDonald's. Ahead of their game against Les Verts, Marseille's loss to Reims 3-1 brought the league title closer to Luis Enrique and his team. The Parisians now need a draw between rivals Monaco and Nice later on March 29.

For this game, Luis Enrique decided to largely rotate his team with five changes to his starting lineup from the win in the Classique over Marseille. Gianluigi Donnarumma will be replaced by Safonov between the sticks while Achraf Hakimi who is rested for this game will see Zaire-Emery play at the right back position. Additionally, Gonçalo Ramos earned a starting berth for this game with Ousmane Dembélé starting on the bench.

Paris Saint-Germain's starting XI: Safonov; Beraldo, Pacho, Hernandez, Warren Zaire-Emery; Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz; Doué, Kvaratskhelia, Gonçalo Ramos, Barcola.

Saint-Etienne's starting XI: Larsonneur; Ekwhah, Petrot, Nade, Batubinsika; Macon, Bouchouari, Cardona, Tardieu, Davitashvili; Stassin.

Paris Smash Les Verts to Move closer to the league title

Playing for their survival in the league, Saint-Etienne started the game very well, dominating on the ball inside the first 10 minutes of the game. Their great start allowed Les Verts to open the score through Lucas Stassin with a header after a remarkable collective movement and a Davitashvili cross in the 9th minute of the game.

After a tough start, Luis Enrique's side dominated the end of the first half putting the hosts on the back foot. And Ramos failed to put both sides level as his close range effort was miraculously saved by Larsonneur. However, Les Verts proved to be a well-organised side and put up an impressive defensive display against the league leaders to stay in front in this game.

Just before half-time, Gonçalo Ramos tied the game from the spot in the 43th minute. His 14th goal of the season in all competition, the sixth in Ligue 1. On the last play of the half, Stassin failed to convert a golden chance as Safonov denied the Belgian.

Kvaratskhelia put his side ahead with his second league goal with PSG after a mistake from St-Etienne's defence in the 50th minute of the game. Less than two minutes later, Désiré Doué made it 3-1 for the visitors, bringing Paris closer to the Ligue 1 title (53').

In the 62nd minute, Joao Neves scored the fourth goal of his side, putting the final nail in the coffin of this game. Doué scored his second goal of the night after a wonderful solo movement (67'). IIbrahim Mbaye ended Paris' goal festival with his first professional goal after an altruistic assist from Barcola (90').

Up next, Paris Saint-Germain will face Ligue 2 side Dunkerque in the semifinal of the Coupe de France at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on April 1st.
