The international break has come to a close with countries across the globe playing their last games over the previous two days. In this break several PSG players were called up for their national team.
These include: Vitinha (Portugal) , Nuno Mendes (Portugal), Gonçalo Ramos (Portugal), Illia Zabarnyi (Ukraine), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Georgia), Willian Pacho (Ecuador), Lucas Chevalier (France) and Lucas Hernandez (France) . There were others like Ousmane Dembélé (France), Bradley Barcola (France) and Marquinhos (Brazil) who would have featured for their national team if they did not sustain an injury.
Here at PSG Post we discuss how the PSG players who represented their country performed in the second half of this international break
PSG players international duty report:
Portugal 2-2 Hungary
Nuno Mendes and Vitinha started the game for Roberto Martinez's side while Gonçalo Ramos came off the bench yet again. Nuno Mendes showed why he is arguably the best left back in the world with his cross to Cristiano Ronaldo for the second goal. The 23 year old also defended well throughout the match.
Vitinha was involved in Portugal's first goal as his found Nelson Semedo with an exquisite pass who then assisted Ronaldo. As for Gonçalo Ramos, he came on as a sub for 12 minutes and touched the ball four times. It is rather unfortunate that Portugal didn't qualify as PSG's Portuguese players could have rested in the next international break.
Iceland 2-2 France
Lucas Chevalier is not first choice for the national team while Lucas Hernandez was an unused sub for the game. Chevalier will be disappointed he didn't get given a chance as Mike Maignan should have done better for Hlynsson's goal and nearly conceded a third goal when he slipped on the ball.
Turkey 4-1 Georgia
Khvicha played 90 minutes in Georgia's 4-1 defeat against Turkey in Kocaeli. He was named as captain but couldn't do much to help his national team against a far superior Turkey side.
Ukraine 2-1 Azerbaijan
Illia Zabarnyi played the full 90 minutes in Ukraine's narrow win again Azerbaijan. The win puts Ukraine three points behind France who failed to get over the line against Iceland in the other group game.
Mexico 1-1 Ecuador
Willian Pacho played the entirety of Ecuador's friendly against Mexico in Estadio AKRON. Luis Enrique will be disappointed that he played both friendlies as he will be needed for the club's Champions League games after the international break.
Luis Enrique will be relieved that the international break is over with nobody injured as he has big Champions League games coming up.
