PSG are preparing for the most important game of their season thus far when they travel to the Principality to play against AS Monaco. The last time these two met in the league, Monaco won 1-0 courtesy of a Takumi Minamino strike. Both teams have had an underwhelming season. Luis Enrique's side got knocked out of the French Cup by city rivals Paris FC, finished 11th in the Champions League table, and are currently a point behind 1st placed Lens in the Ligue 1 table. Les Parisiens were in good form in the league before the 3-1 defeat away to Rennes, having won seven games in a row.

Monaco is currently eighth in the Ligue 1 table, which is underwhelming considering the quality of players that they have in their squad. They also got knocked out of the French Cup at the last 16 stage by Strasbourg. Monaco fans will be disappointed that their team did not progress to the quarter finals, as Les Parisiens got knocked out in the last 16 of the competition. If Sebastien Pocognoli's side doesn't improve fast, then they could risk not playing in Europe next campaign.
