Following a fruitful first season and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, PSG and Luis Enrique reportedly agreed to extend the former Barcelona coach's stay at the club for two more seasons.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Luis Enrique's future was uncertain. However, negotiations were ongoing in the last few weeks between the Spaniards and the club to extend their partnership.

And according to several media outlets and journalists such as RMC Sport and Fabrizio Romano, the new contract has already been signed which would keep the former Spain manager in charge of Paris Saint-Germain for two more seasons, until 2027.

In his first season in charge of the team, Luis Enrique led the team to a Ligue 1 title, a Coupe de France, and a Champions League semi-final.

This new contract will give him more time to build a team able to compete for a Champions League title which is the biggest objective of the PSG and club's President Nasser Al-Khelaifi since QSI's takeover in 2011.

Following the departures of Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi, Marco Verratti last year, and Kylian Mbappe this season, the club has started a completely new era giving a bigger importance to the collective and bringing younger players to build around them.

It is also widely reported that Luis Campos will extend his contract with PSG as well, with the good relationship between the Portuguese sporting advisor and the Spanish coach being important in the recent success of the team.

Luis Enrique hasn't been universally accepted by the fans since his arrival, but he's definitely delivered results.

At times, his decisions seem baffling to some, but unlike the supporters, the players are indeed enjoying the fact that they always have the chance to be starters, according to their own words.
