France is taking on Iceland at the Parc des Princes in their second 2026 World Cup qualifiers games. Didier Deschamps and his team started their campaign perfectly with a 2-0 away victory over Ukraine and Illia Zabarnyi in the opener.

However, despite the important success, the 2022 World Cup finalists lost PSG stars Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué, which sparked Paris Saint-Germain's anger as they lost two key players for an extended period of time. Both players are expected to be sidelined for Paris' Champions League opener against Atalanta on September 17.

Therefore both PSG players left France's camp and returned to their club, as Kingsley Coman was called-up to replace them ahead of the clash against Iceland.

As for Iceland, they easily dominated Azerbaijan 5-0 in their 2026 World Cup qualifiers opener and are currently sitting at the top of the group on goal difference. They will aim for a positive result against the favourite of Group D before facing Ukraine in the next international window.

How to watch France vs Iceland

The game will be broadcasted live on Amazon Prime Pay-Per-View (PPV) in the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the match will also be available on Fox Sports 2, Fox Sports app and FuboTV in the United States of America.

France vs Iceland: Predicted starting XI

For their second 2026 World Cup qualifiers group stage game, Didier Deschamps is not expected to make numerous changes to the side that defeated Ukraine 2-0. Having to do with Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué following their respective injuries.

The 2018 World Cup winners should therefore start with AC Milan's Mike Maignan in goal, while Jules Koundé and Theo Hernandez occupy the full-back positions. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konaté should partner Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano in the heart of France's backline. Moreover, Aurélien Tchouaméni is set to partner with Manu Koné in midfield. Bradley Barcola should occupy the left wing while Kingsley Coman earns a start after his surprise recall to replace Doué and Dembélé.

Furthermore, in-form Michael Olise will be in the number 10 position, just behind Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé, who will look to surpass Thierry Henry's goal record with the national team against Iceland.
