The transfer window has been interesting for some European clubs. Take Man City and Chelsea, for instance. Pep Guardiola's side have already signed Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, and Rayan Ait-Nouri, while Chelsea have acquired Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, and are closing in on a deal for Xavi Simons. Chelsea's case is unique as they have a squad which many would argue is too big.

This is a problem, as many players will be disgruntled if they aren't getting many minutes on the pitch. They would have every reason to be disgruntled, as it could decide whether or not a player will make a World Cup squad or not. If the Club World had not taken place this summer, several deals would have been completed. Here at PSG Post, we discuss why the transfer window is important for the French champions.

They will need to rotate this season more then ever

Luis Enrique will need a large squad this season for several reasons. One rationale for this is that the players would be coming off the back of a long season, which consisted of the club winning the treble and reaching the Club World Cup final, which extended their season by a month.PSG should be able to cope without their full-strength eleven in the league as they are the dominant force in French football. Since the Qatari takeover, they have won 11 Ligue 1 titles.

They will still need to go strong in the Champions League, as that tournament has numerous clubs that can beat PSG if they aren't at full strength. If Enrique rotates in the league, then he will keep many players happy as they will have game time.

Les Parisiens still need to strengthen their squad

Luis Enrique knows that there are parts of his team/ squad that could do with an upgrade. Lucas Hernandez , Presenel Kimpembe , Lucas Beraldo, and potentially Goncalo Ramos are a list of players that could do with an exit from the club this summer. Considering that it is a World Cup year, those players should think about going to a club that can guarantee them playing time.

If they start games they can make their case for a spot in their national teams squad ahead of the World Cup(providing they play well of course). If they don't strengthen their squad, then the starters will be complacent, as they know that there is a big drop-off in quality from the bench to the starting eleven.
