We already have the Champions League

We already have a prestigious tournament that features the world's best teams, known as the Champions League. This adds to the idea that the tournament does not make any sense, as why would you need the Club World Cup to determine what team is the best in the world?

If a European team does not win the tournament, it will be because they did not take the tournament seriously enough. There will be more onus on the non-European teams as they don't face the European teams very often.

It is easy to understand why, as the tournament comes at the worst possible time. The European clubs just finished their season, and some of their players have just come back from the international break with their country.
