Les Parisiens have the most important game of the season at the end of this month when they play Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest. The final is important as if the French champions win, they could become the second side after Zidane's Real Madrid to retain the Champions League. Before the matchup at the end of the month, Luis Enrique described Mikel Arteta's side as'the best side in Europe without the ball'. This is a testament to how well they have done this season. Here at PSG Post, we discuss why the game will be extremely difficult for Luis Enrique's side.

Why PSG can expect their toughest battle against Arsenal in the Champions League final?

Arsenal have been the best team in the Champions League

The Gunners are unbeaten in Europe this season. In the league phase, they had won all of their games. This is remarkable considering that they had memorable wins over Bayern Munich (3-1) at home and Inter Milan (1-3) at the San Siro. In the knockout phase, they remained unbeaten against Bayer Leverkusen (3-1), Sporting Lisbon (1-0), and Atlético Madrid (2-1) on their way to the Champions League final. PSG were underwhelming in the league phase as they had only won four out of their eight games, losing to Sporting (2-1) in Lisbon and drawing to Athletic Bilbao (0-0) in Spain and Newcastle United (1-1) at home.

They will play with freedom after winning the Premier League

Mikel Arteta's side were crowned Premier League champions on Tuesday after Man City succumbed to a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Eli Junior Kroupi opened the scoring for Andoni Iraola's side before Erling Haaland equalised in added time. The result is not a shock as Bournemouth are currently on a 16-game unbeaten streak and Man City have underwhelmed in the Premier League this season. Arsenal finished at the second place three times in a row, so getting over the line would have been a huge relief ahead of the final. If they had lost, there would have been more pressure to win the final.

Arsenal have the best defence in Europe and a brilliant goalkeeper in David Raya

Luis Enrique is going to have a tough time on his hands trying to break down Arsenal's defence. Raya kept nine clean sheets in 13 UEFA Champions League matches. This is a testament to how good centre-backs William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes have been. The French champions know that they have to take any chance that falls their way as they won't get many against this Arsenal team.
