PSG is preparing for the biggest game in the club's history on Saturday when they take on Inter Milan in the Champions League final. It is the biggest game in the club's history for several reasons. One reason is that they opted not to go for the Galactico approach last summer, and this is the trophy that has eluded them since the Qatari takeover in 2012.

They came extremely close to winning the tournament in 2020 when they narrowly lost to Bayern Munich in the final. This will give them the motivation needed to get them over the line on Saturday. Their journey to the final itself is remarkable considering they almost didn't get out of the league phase.

Here at PSG Post, we discuss why the French champions can end their long, elusive wait for the trophy.

They have beaten quality teams already

Luis Enrique's side has already had to face Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa in the knockout rounds en route to the Champions League final. The Man City game in the league phase was the turning point of their Champions League campaign, as they never looked back from that game onwards.

Before the Man City game, they had lost to Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal in the league phase. These results meant qualification for the next round of the tournament was in jeopardy. The 4-2 win over Man City would have reinforced the belief that they can beat Europe's top sides. Les Parisiens will have confidence from their results in the knockout rounds that they can win the tournament, as they have passed all the challenges thrown their way.

The French champions have players which can cause problems

Luis Enrique has players at his disposal who can threaten the Inter defence. Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha, and Desire Doue can tear apart any team on the counter. Dembele is having the best season of his career, which has been hindered by injuries.

Khvicha is difficult to stop when he is running at you, and Doue is improving with every game he plays. Inter Milan's two games against Barcelona show that the Italian side's defence can be breached. In both games, lapses of concentration gave Hansi Flick's side a way back into the game when they were 2-0 down.

This is rather remarkable, as before the two Barcelona games, they had the best defence in the tournament. PSG would rather play Inter Milan than Barcelona in the final because of how dominant Spanish teams have been in European Cup finals.
