PSG is in the midst of an exciting time. Not only are they defending three trophies, but they are also going far in the Club World Cup. The European champions will be the team to beat this upcoming season as they set the standard last campaign despite a slow start in the league phase of the Champions League.

The Champions League is the trophy they have wanted the most under the Qatari ownership, as the owners were brought in for that sole purpose. It is scary to think what they could do this upcoming season once they strengthen their squad. Here at PSG Post, we discuss why next season is the most exciting in the club's history.

They have several young players who will only get better

Les Parisiens have a young squad consisting of players with limitless potential. They have a brilliant young core consisting of João Neves, Nuno Mendes, Desiré Doué, Vitinha, and Achraf Hakimi. This is before we mention the likes of Warren Zaire Emery and Senny Mayulu, who can be difference makers of the bench.

Mayulu will be known as the player who scored the fifth goal in the Champions League final. In the final against Inter, the Italian giants' ageing players couldn't keep up with the tempo that Luis Enrique's young team were playing at.

They could still strengthen this window

The French champions have not done much this transfer window. This will not concern PSG fans as they know how ambitious the owners are. They spent money wisely in the Qatari ownership to become the dominant force in French football, and in the January transfer window, they obtained the services of Khvicha from Napoli. He played a crucial role in the knockout rounds of the Champions League games against Arsenal and Aston Villa, and also scored the fourth goal in the final against Inter Milan.

They have confidence from last season, and Enrique can rotate the squad

Luis Enrique's side will have confidence going into next season as they just won the Champions League. The former Spanish coach needs to keep his players grounded to avoid them getting complacent. He should rotate in the league, as the players are coming off the back of a long season, which included the Club World Cup. They have a squad strong enough to win the league without the starters playing in half of the games. Enrique needs to rotate as the World Cup takes place at the end of this season and over half of his players will be involved in it.
