PSG have had great center-backs in their history, particularly since the Qatari takeover in 2011. The quality of center-backs they have acquired is not a surprise, as the owners have been ambitious from the first day of the takeover.
Here at PSG Post, we discuss who the best five center-backs have been in the club's history.
Top 5 best Paris Saint-Germain centre-backs under QSI
5. Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos was a surprising signing when he joined the club from Real Madrid on July 8, 2021. The former Spanish international did well at the club despite not being there for a while (he was only at the club for two seasons). Injuries meant that he made his debut for the club on the 28th November 2021 against St Etienne. Ramos made 45 appearances for the club during the two years he was in France, winning 2 French league titles and the Trophee Des Champions Cup.
4. Presnel Kimpembe

Kimpembe has been part of the PSG furniture since 2005, where he played for the academy. The French international made his debut for the club on October 17th, 2014, against Lens. His standout moment was when he scored the first goal in a Champions League tie against Man United in 2019. Ironically, in the second leg of that tie, he used his hand to block Diogo Dalot's shot, which resulted in a penalty. It is a shame that he has not been playing much in recent years as a result of a string of injuries. He was notably named in the UNFP Ligue of the year for the 24-25 season.
3. Willian Pacho

Pacho joined the club last summer window from Eintracht Frankfurt and has turned out to be an unreal signing. The Ecuadorian international was a mainstay of the team last season, appearing in 28 Ligue 1 games and 17 Champions League games. His performances for the club earned him a place in the UNFP team of the year last season. If he continues on this descendency, he could end up being one of the two best center-backs in the club's history.
2. Thiago Silva

Silva was seen as the best defender in the world when he joined from AC Milan on July 14th, 2012. Injury problems meant it took a while for the Brazilian to make his debut for the club. He made 204 Ligue 1 appearances during his time at the club and played in 60 Champions League matches. His most memorable moment was playing well in the knockout round of the Champions League. It is a shame he wasn't at the club when they won the treble last season, as he has been one of the faces of this PSG project.
1. Marquinhos

Marquinhos was seen as Thiago Silva's heir prior to joining the club from Roma in July 2013. It would be an understatement to say he lived up to the hype since he arrived at the club. He was under pressure as he had the highest fee for a teenager. The Brazilian international has made 312 Ligue 1 appearances, which is a testament to his importance to the club. His most memorable moment was putting in a stellar performance against Inter in the Champions League final last season.
