Ranking PSG’s best Champions League performances of the last decade

Paris Saint-Germain has written exciting story in the UEFA Champions League over the last decade. Few clubs in modern history managed to combine such breathtaking talent with storylines that swing between heartbreak and ecstasy. For years, PSG carried the weight of expectation, and still French giants have built a reputation as one of Europe’s most thrilling teams to watch.

Their long awaiting hunt for European glory finally paid off in 2025, but along the way PSG delivered some memorable performances that fans will never forget. Here are top five.

5. PSG 4–0 Barcelona (2017, Round of 16, First Leg)

This night in Paris was supposed to be the turning point. Ángel Di María showed up on his 29th birthday where he produced masterclass, scoring twice as PSG dominated over Barcelona at the Parc des Princes. For 90 minutes, they looked unstoppable, pressing high and punishing Barça that was led by legendary MSN trio of Messi, Suárez, and Neymar.

Unfortunately for Parisians, Barcelona had final word in this story. Infamous “ La Remontada”, the miracle comeback at the Camp Nou in the second leg overshadowed this brilliant display, but the first leg remains one of PSG’s finest nights.

4. PSG 2–0 Borussia Dortmund (2020, Round of 16, Second Leg)

Clash of these titans came in different times. Played behind closed doors as pandemic was upon us, this win carried huge emotional weight. PSG entered the Parc des Princes trailing 2–1 from the first leg, but they managed to find their hero, Neymar.  He scores the opener as a reminder why nights in Paris are ofter magical.  His left sided partner, Juan Bernat doubled the lead just before halftime, and PSG never looked back.

Paris was breathing pure, raw emotion that night. Players climbed onto the stadium railings to celebrate with fans gathered outside, turning an empty ground into a symbol of unity.

3. PSG 3–0 RB Leipzig (2020, Semifinal)

For decades, PSG’s was chasing Champions League finals and failing over and over again, but this night in Lisbon had different ending. PSG showed up, team played with intention worthy of their ambition. From Marquinhos, throught Ángel Di María and Bernat PSG showed authority in controlling this game. 

On display that night in Lisbon team highlighted the balance between attacking flair and defensive solidity. It was a statement performance for critics as the Parisians secured their first-ever final with style

2. Liverpool 0–1 PSG (2025, Round of 16, Second Leg)

Not many European nights are as daunting as Anfield, but Parisians walked the storm with hope of silencing it. After a dramatic loss in Paris, Luis Enrique’s side needed another statement performance away from home to reach the quarterfinals of the competition. Ousmane Dembélé struck first with composed finish, leveling the score on aggregate.

Liverpool pushed to win it late, but thanks to a fantastic Donnarumma in regular time and during the penalty shootout, PSG survived Anfield. Knocking out Liverpool at Anfield was more than a progression, it was a statement.

1. PSG 5–0 Inter Milan (2025, Final)

Munich became city of dreams for Paris. Lights are shining the brightest as PSG was facing Inter Milan in the Champions League final. PSG came with a mission this night, mission that Inter had no answers to. From the first whistle, Parisians played with pace, precision and hunger, like nothing will stop them. Goals came from everywhere, Vitinha dictated the tempo, Désiré Doué tore Inter apart down the flanks, and Kvaratskhelia was simply unplayable.

PSG displayed the most one-sided Champions League final in modern memory, crushing Inter's dreams with 5:0 victory in Munich. For club that was suffering heartbreak year after year, night in Munich felt special, as it was.
