PSG is preparing for its most important game of the season thus far, hosting Monaco in the second leg of the Champions League. The French champions won 2-3 in the first leg at the Stade Louis II.
On that occasion, Les Parisiens showed brilliant fighting spirit to come back from 2-0 down after Folarin Balogun had scored a brace in the first 18 minutes. Désiré Doué made it 2-1 before Achraf Hakimi equalised on the stroke of half-time. The second half was more comfortable for the European champions as Monaco were down to 10-men. It was inevitable that Luis Enrique's side would score a winner, which came through Doue. These two sides will face each other again on Friday, 6th March.
Despite winning the first leg, PSG should not take their opponents for granted, as they proved that they can beat them when they met earlier in the league. Monaco has nothing to lose as they aren't expected to win by two goals against PSG.
They should prioritise the league, as they are currently eighth, three points behind Rennes, who occupy the last European place. Sebastien Pocognoli will feel as though his side has underachieved thus far, in contrast to last season, when they finished third.
