After being rescheduled following severe weather conditions in the region, Paris Saint-Germain will face Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome to conclude Matchday 5 of the Ligue 1 McDonald's. Unfortunately, this game will take place at the same time as the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris while several PSG players were set to be honoured after their historical treble-winning campaign last season.

Nonetheless, Ousmane Dembélé, heavy favourite to receive the award will be at the ceremony alongside Joao Neves, Désiré Doué and Nasser Al-Khelaifi as all players are currently recovering from injuries.

Additionally, Bradley Barcola will not take part in Le Classique through injury. For this game against their rival, Luis Enrique made a major tactical change as Paris will play with a back three, composed with Marquinhos, Pacho and Zabarnyi. Nuno Mendes and Hakimi will feature as wing-back while Warren Zaire-Emery replace Joao Neves in midfield next to Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha. Kvaratskhelia and Ramos will lead the front line.

Paris Saint-Germain's starting XI: Chevalier; Marquinhos, Pacho, Zabarnyi; Hakimi, Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Warren Zaire-Emery, Nuno Mendes; Ramos, Kvaratskhelia.

Olympique de Marseille's starting XI: Rulli; Aguerd, Balerdi, Pavard; Weah, Hojberg, O'Reily, Emerson; Greenwood, Paixao, Gouiri.

PSG fall at the Vélodrome against Marseille

In an incandescent atmosphere at the Vélodrome, Aguerd open the score for the hosts after Lucas Chevalier's mistake who missed his intervention (5'). After a difficult start in this game, Luis Enrique's men finally managed to break through Marseille's high press and became more dangerous with the ball, though, without creating any clear cut chances inside the first 15 minutes of the game.

The biggest opportunity for PSG came at the 30th minute through Kvaratskhelia whose effort went just wide of Rulli's post. Despite their large domination on the ball, failed to any clear cut chances and found themselves trailing to the hosts at halftime.

The European Champions came back in the second looking much more dangerous and created more opportunities. After a splendid solo move from Kvaratskhelia, Hakimi's strike pushed Rulli to a wonderful save to keep the hosts in the lead (60').

With time running out, they surged forward and carved out several opportunities to draw level, yet could not find the breakthrough.

Up next, PSG will face Auxerre at the Parc des Princes on September 27 on Matchday 6 of the Ligue 1 McDonald's as they will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season.
