PSG dominated Inter Miami and booked spot for the quarterfinal
Luis Enrique and his team made easy work of Inter Miami with a dominant display. The Champions League winners scored four first half goals to brush aside the MLS side.
After just five minutes, Joao Neves punctuated a strong start for PSG as his header found the back of the net of Ustari following Vitinha's free-kick. The European Champions' dominance on the ball made it very difficult for Inter Miami to exist inside the first 15 minutes of the game while creating numerous chances to score.
The second part of the first half was all PSG as they created numerous chances to double their lead, without finding the back of the net. However, after remarkable collective move just outside Miami's box, Fabian Ruiz set up perfectly Joao Neves who made it 2-0 with a tap-in as he scored his second goal of the evening (39').
Just before the break, Paris scored twice in quick succession as substitute Aviles scored an own goal following Désiré Doué's cross and made it 3-0 for the French Champion as it seemed to already sealed Inter Miami's fate (44'). Then Achraf Hakimi made it 4-0 following up his own miss off the crossbar (45+3).
While the intensity level significantly dropped in the second half, Inter Miami enjoyed more opportunities to break forward, mostly through Lionel Messi. However, Miami failed to create any real chances to reduce the score and Paris comfortably saw out the game after a dominant outing.
Up next, Paris Saint-Germain will face the winner of the tie between Flamengo and Bayern Munich in the quarterfinal on July 5.
