Presnel Kimpembe made his return to the team after a long-term recovery from injury last season, which put his future at the club in jeopardy. He is now out of Luis Enrique's plan at PSG and had barely featured with the team since his return. Therefore, the French international's future looks far from the club.
Last season, he played only 76 minutes with the European Champions across five games. His 2-year absence took him out of the rotation as his current fitness level prevent him from featuring in one of the best European side.
According to French outlet L'Equipe, the World Cup winner had an opportunity to join AC Milan before the end of the transfer window. The publication understands that the Italian giants have shown interest towards the 30-year-old.
However, it is reported that the centre-back was opposed to the move to Italy and never opened negotiations with the club, rejecting the chance to join his former PSG teammates, Christopher Nkunku and Adrien Rabiot in San Siro. Nonetheless, Kimpembe should soon join his next club and leave Europe in the process.
Presnel Kimpembe set for move to Qatar
According several outlets, Presnel Kimpembe is set for a move to Qatar, though, up to this point no club have filtered but with PSG's owners having a network in Qatar, it should facilitate Kimpembe's departure. The French international's contract with PSG is set to expire in June 2026 and has been pushed towards the exit by the club amid his low chances of getting any minutes under Luis Enrique.
Additionally, Qatar's transfer window closes on September 16, which would plenty of time to the club to offload the player and arrange a deal with a team. Overall, Presnel Kimpembe made 241 appearances with PSG since he broke in the first team in 2015.
Before his departure, he should receive a proper send-off by the club and the fans after his incredible tenure at the club.
