Xavi Simons is no longer a PSV Eindhoven player, and it was even the Dutch club who announced it this Sunday. The player has decided to activate PSG's famous buy-back clause in his contract, and PSV will receive 6 million euros, of which 2 million will go to the player, much less than the market value of the attacking midfielder who shone last season.

Xavi Simons is expected to arrive in Paris this Sunday for his medical examination and sign a four-year contract as announced by Fabrizio Romano and L'Equipe. However, there are still doubts about whether the young Dutchman will play the 2023/2024 season at PSG.

Fabrizio Romano reports that there are two solutions for Simons. If Kylian Mbappe or Neymar leaves the club during the summer, Xavi Simons will stay at PSG next season. Otherwise, he will be loaned out. According to L'Equipe, a meeting will take place shortly to define the player's future, but the French outlet also assures that "if Mbappe and Neymar stay, Simons will go on loan to an important club that has already been found, but whose name is not known". It will not be at PSV, according to the Dutch press.

However, according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who covers PSV Eindhoven daily for Eindhovens Dagblad, a clause was included in Xavi Simons' contract that he cannot be transferred or sold if PSG's buyback clause is activated. Difficult to know clearly at this moment what will happen, and the only thing certain is that Xavi Simons will be a PSG player, by contract, shortly.
