Forwards: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe

There might be questions about playing Carlos Soler and/or Hugo Ekitike going forward, but definitely not today, let alone against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last-16 round.

PSG's qualification for the next stage will come down to Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe pairing up front and working out their magic as it's been the case for so many evenings before.

That might be reductive but it's the cold, harsh truth of Paris Saint-Germain these days. If Messi and, mostly, Mbappe work, the team wins more often than not. If they don't, expect another loss. Mbappe only played fewer than a full half in the first-leg outing against Bayern but he already (almost) scored two goals in such a brief time, only getting denied by tiny margins detected by the VAR.

dark. Next. PSG and Kylian Mbappe do not intend to separate their paths

Bayern truly fears the presence of Mbappe, and as much as Julian Nagelsmann wants to sell you the fact that he's a genius and knows how to stop him and Messi, he just doesn't have a clue and it showed in the first matchup at the Parc des Princes.
