PSG will travel to play Auxerre on the road for MD36 of the Ligue 1 season trying to win a historic 11th Ligue 1 title away from the Parc des Princes. They will need to earn more points than second-place Lens, and they will have to do it knowing all other results as this game will take place in the final slate of the weekend, on Sunday evening.
The Parisian players will be, once more, accompanied by their beloved ultras in the shape of the Collectif Ultras Paris after the CUP won their battle with the PSG board and ended their strike this past midweek, making their return to all matches played by PSG teams in multiple sports from this week on, including football and handball.
Last weekend marked the return of Lionel Messi to the pitch of the Parc des Princes to play his second-to-last home game at PSG. He will have another chance in the final matchday of the season, and two more this and next weekend as PSG enters a back-to-back set of games on the road next.
PSG can seal the Ligue 1 title this Sunday if they earn more points than Lens, which will play before the Parisian on Sunday. If they only match Lens' result later on the evening, though, the celebrations of a historic 11th Ligue 1 triumph will have to be delayed by PSG for at least one more week.
Here we take a look at how PSG could line up for the match against Auxerre on Sunday evening as the Parisians embark on a back-to-back set of matches on the road starting in MD36 and trying to make the final push toward the Ligue 1 title.
Goalkeeper: Gianluigi Donnarumma
Although Gigio, or PSG's defense for that matter, has not been great at earning clean sheets this season, he's on pace to beat his prior-best mark of 14 (back in 2021 at AC Milan) if he gets two more through the remaining three Ligue 1 games. He has 13 CS to date for a CS% of 37.1 percent, and he will have three more chances to tie or surpass his career best in the next two weeks of play.
