When does the summer transfer window open?

If you've never followed soccer, consider yesterday the trade deadline of the sport, similar to the ones used across all major American leagues such as the NBA, the NFL, or the MLB.

Starting today, European clubs have been put in the freezer for a bunch of months. Now, you might be wondering when will they be able to enter negotiations and close deals again.

While there is not an "official" kick-off for the next transfer window opening (yet), deals can already get agreed upon and later be completed when we meet that date.

The final date will be made public soon, though, with mid-June often being the landing spot. Last season, it was Jun. 10 for Premier League clubs, and one year before that it landed on Jun. 9. You get a nice idea.

The summer window will then last until Sep. 1, so that will give all European clubs nearly a three-month of room to operate, negotiate, and close deals ahead of the 2023-24 season.
