Warren Zaire-Emery and Marquinhos back training
In a surprising turn of events considering the latest reports about their availability, both Warren Zaire-Emery and Marquinhos made a shockingly early return to training at the PSG Campus on Wednesday along with their teammates.
The session followed a two-and-a-half-day break granted by manager Luis Enrique following the weekend, and it proved to be a pleasant surprise for the squad as none of these two were expected back so soon.
PSG published a note on the club's Twitter account providing a detailed health update on the players and their training regimes this midweek.
Marquinhos actively participated in almost the entire training session with his teammates. Meanwhile, Warren Zaire-Emery rejoined the group and completed a substantial part of today's practice. It's worth remembering that WZE wasn't expected back until the 2024 calendar year at the earliest.
While Marquinhos' return was a bit more anticipated, Zaire-Emery's early comeback certainly was an early Christmas gift for PSG fans and even some members of the staff and players alike.
Although Zaire-Emery didn't complete the full session, his appearance on the training ground certainly suggests a positive and much-quicker recovery than initially forecast.
Luis Enrique is scheduled to address the media in a press conference on Friday at 1 p.m. ahead of the PSG vs. Nantes match next weekend and he's expected to share some more information about the availability of these two players.
