During the week leading up to the Ligue 1 match, PSG maintained some mystery regarding their starting lineup, as on April 3rd they would contest the French Cup semifinal against Rennes. However, Luis Enrique decided to take the field with his best XI for the classic, led by Kylian Mbappé.
Víctor Ferreira, better known as Vitinha, managed to lead Paris Saint-Germain to victory in a tightly contested match. Although there were several errors in front of the goal by both teams in the first half, PSG showed some instability in ball control.
In an incident in the 41st minute of the match, PSG was affected by the referee's decision by Benoit Bastien, resulting in the expulsion of Lucas Beraldo, an officiating error that would impact the course of the match.
Vitinha was the standout player of the classic at the Velodrome
The 24-year-old Portuguese is having a fascinating season, as evidenced by how he led PSG to victory even with a player down. With a goal and a notable performance across the entire Velodrome pitch, he was the player of the match, with remarkable statistics for the Parisian victory: 91 touches in the game, an 86% pass completion rate (59/69), and a goal that broke the deadlock in this challenging classic.
Following Marco Verratti's departure, Vitinha has been chosen to lead the team on the field in this project overseen by Luis Enrique. PSG faces an important schedule in the competitions in which they are active, and the development of a team working together to achieve results generates excitement among Parisian fans, who believe that PSG is destined for great things this season.
