After only playing 13 games at PSG in his first season in the French capital (2021/22), Sergio Ramos wants to stay in Paris after a much more prolific season in which he's about to appear for the 40th time this year, says Le Parisien.

Ramos signed a two-year contract a couple of summers ago that run out June 2023. The Spanish legend signed with PSG following a title-laden run with Real Madrid.

At 37 years old, the center-back still wants to keep winning titles and playing in the Champions League. That's the main reason behind his decision to stay in Paris by extending his deal with PSG.

However, he is already fielding offers from Saudi Arabia clubs that might force PSG into offering Ramos a higher salary because of a loss of leverage.

And he would be ready to make some financial efforts to validate the operation, even if his wife maintains the vagueness on the future of her husband in France. "I don't know if we're going to stay in Paris or if we're going to come back (to Spain) , said Pilar Rubio recently. And the worst part is that I won't know until the last moment, so I don't even think about it. »

Ramos will have a chance to play for the 40th time this season in all competitions if he logs a minute against Lorient on Sunday. Only Marquinhos and Lionel Messi have been used more by Christophe Galtier since the start of the season in August.

“He had a very difficult last season with multiple injuries, particularly on the calf," said Galtier at his pre-game press conference on Friday. "He is a very professional player. When you have such a track record at that age, it's because you put all the chances on your side to be successful."

Galtier also said "Ramos is an important player in the locker room," and that "I am very satisfied with his season and especially with what he brings on match days but also on a daily basis. This is an example that all our young players must follow."

Discussions have already taken place between the sports management of PSG and Sergio Ramos to discuss a future extension. However, no concrete offer has yet been submitted by Paris Saint-Germain to the player.
