According to L'Equipe, Marco Verratti's entourage has issued a counterproposal to Al-Ahli. The Saudi club has paused negotiations with the PSG midfielder, also courted by Atletico Madrid and even by Galatasaray.

Pending his possible departure, PSG is experiencing the start of the season without Marco Verratti. The Parisian club would be pushing their midfielder towards the exit door, and they have not considered him for the first two days of Ligue 1 while waiting for his future to be resolved. Saudi Arabia would like to attract the Italy international to their league.

The track that leads to Al-Ahli, however, took the lead in the race for the signing of Verratti, but according to information from L'Equipe, the Saudi club, which had reached an agreement with the player, put on pause negotiations with Marco Verratti after receiving a counter offer from the Italian's entourage. Therefore, Al-Hilal, who has already signed Neymar, could have a free hand in this potential signing.

PSG's number 6 also maintains a certain rating in Europe. Among the most interesting suitors, Galatasaray recently inquired into the situation of the Italian and "try to place his arguments" despite the economic complexity of such a signing, according to the aforementioned media. For its part, France Bleu Paris also explains that Atletico Madrid has contacted PSG. The capital club has communicated that only a fixed sale could be accepted.
