Amidst the whirlwind of speculation about a potential dual departure involving Neymar and Marco Verratti, tangible developments are gradually materializing as L'Equipe reported on Wednesday that PSG are actively pursuing the sale of the two superstars.

The members of the first team of PSG are already training at the new Campus in Poissy under the guidance of Luis Enrique geraing up for the opener of the Ligue 1 season this weekend.

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, the customary training routine unfolded at the training facilities. However, RMC Sport revealed two notable absences on the field back then: Neymar and Marco Verratti trained indoors.

Now, 24 hours later, L'Equipe dropped the news of PSG's position on the issue: the French champions want to sell both players and the two of them missed Wednesday's session, the second in a row, with the absence now attributed to "a virus".

Beyond training, these two, along with Kylian Mbappe, were notably absent from the LFP-organized media day, as reported by Fabrice Hawkins.

It's been reported that the club owners have made it known to the players and coaches that all of Juan Bernat, Hugo Ekitike, Renato Sanches, Marco Verratti, and Neymar are on the transfer list and will be sold through August if an offer arrives for them.

It's still unclear if any of those players will be available for Luis Enrique to use in the opening fixture of Ligue 1 on Saturday against Lorient, information first reported by L'Equipe on Wednesday.

According to information obtained by Le Parisien, Marco Verratti's limited participation during the summer tour around Japan was due to "perceived fitness struggles" under Luis Enrique's assessment.

Whatever the case and while these storylines unwrap, it's looking like the futures of Marco Verratti and Neymar will be far from Paris next season with PSG determined to start a new era from September on.
