Fifteen days after the announcement of a letter sent by Kylian Mbappe to his leaders to let them know that he did not want to activate the year as an option in his contract until 2025, the negotiations regarding the future of the player have kept going under the table.

The question that the Parisian leaders keep asking themselves is whether to get rid of PSG's no. 7 this summer or wait until the end of next season, with the risk of losing the face of their club for free.

In this context, the Paris Saint-Germain board seems to have a clear position: either Kylian Mbappe extends his deal with PSG by the end of July, or he will be sold during the summer transfer window of 2023, presumably in the month of August.

In a last attempt to salvage the situation, but also to clarify it more than anything, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was expected to meet with Mbappe's entourage on Friday, and more specifically with the player's representative and mother, Fayza Lamari, according to Marca.

Kylian Mbappe could renew his contract with PSG, with the option to leave the club in 2024

The Spanish outlet mentions an option that has been gaining strength in the last few hours: a two- or three-season extension with the guarantee of letting Mbappe go in the summer of 2024 if the player so wishes.

It's worth pointing out that termination clauses are illegal in France. However, the Parisian management and Mbappe's entourage could reach a verbal agreement in order to ensure the attacker's departure in 2024 if he wants out.

Mbappe's current contract, which includes one year as an additional option (through the summer of 2025), would therefore be discarded, and PSG would offer an entirely new contract to Kylian Mbappe.

For its part, Real Madrid will be attentive to all this. If at the end of tomorrow's meeting, things are clear and the Kylian Mbappe clan expresses its desire to pack its bags this summer, then the Spanish giants are expected to make a power move for the Frenchman.
