According to RMC Sport, the official announcement of the separation between manager Christophe Galtier and PSG is expected to occur this week, perhaps as soon as Tuesday, July 4.
It is widely known that Galtier will not continue as PSG's coach next season, but the process of finalizing the break has been delayed for a month as both parties negotiate the compensation to be paid by PSG to Galtier for firing him one year before his contract runs out.
However, after a period of 10 days without any communication, negotiations between PSG and Galtier have sped up of late, indicating progress toward a resolution. Sources close to the situation suggest that the outcome will be formalized "soon."
A representative of Galtier's camp told RMC that the discussions are now "picking up pace," although no further details were provided. It is expected that the separation will be completed by the middle of the week, allowing PSG to finalize the appointment of their new coach, Luis Enrique, just a few days before the pre-season activities start on July 10 (pending the arrival of international-capped players).
Enrique's official announcement is expected on Thursday, July 6, so both timelines make sense. For now, though, we'll have to wait at least a couple more days to know if Galtier is sacked and whether or not Enrique is presented to the masses before the weekend.
