In the wake of Kylian Mbappe's impending departure, PSG is on the hunt for a new top-tier attacker to fill the void.
Among the names being considered to step into Mbappe's shoes are Victor Osimhen and Rafael Leao. However, PSG's attention has also turned to younger prospects, including 16-year-old Lamine Yamal from FC Barcelona
Luis Campos, of PSG, has taken note of Yamal's talent, recognizing him as a potential future star. Yet, PSG's pursuit faces a hurdle as FC Barcelona is reluctant to part ways with Yamal.
According to reports from Fabrizio Romano (h/t Le10Sport), FC Barcelona views Yamal as a cornerstone of their future endeavors and is adamant about retaining him.
Pundit reignites PSG's interest in young FC Barcelona star
In light of PSG's interest, FC Barcelona plans to extend Yamal's contract in 2025, underlining their commitment to keeping him at the club. The Catalan giants believe that Yamal possesses the qualities to become a pivotal figure in their long-term plans and are eager to secure his future.
Moreover, FC Barcelona enjoys a strong relationship with Yamal, further solidifying their determination to keep him within their ranks.
Let’s be honest, the Yamal rumor aligns with the strategy many agents use to increase the value of their clients, and it’s no coincidence that it’s the Barcelona president himself who has been talking about this lately.
It’s obvious that teams like PSG, as well as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Juventus, among others, would be interested in a young talent like Lamine Yamal, considering his age and talent. But it’s equally obvious that Barcelona won’t easily sell a player of such characteristics, that is, young, talented, and a product of their youth academy.
It seems that Barca is trying to clean its image in some way by sending the message to its fans that they wouldn’t sell their young star for all the money in the world.
