Since Kylian Mbappe's departure, PSG has been working to bolster their offense with an effective and charismatic winger. This profile, as described by L’Equipe, seems to align perfectly with Nico Williams.

Currently, PSG can rely on Bradley Barcola for the left flank of their attack. However, the club does not seem ready to fully entrust him with the role and aims to strengthen this position further. As a result, several names have been linked to Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks, including Rafael Leao, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Jadon Sancho, and now Nico Williams.

The Spanish international, who impressed during Euro 2024, is indeed on PSG's radar. To secure the services of the 22-year-old winger, PSG will need to pay €58 million, which is the release clause in his contract with Athletic Bilbao, binding him until June 2027.

This amount seems very manageable for Paris Saint-Germain, but less so for FC Barcelona. While they must convince the player of the Parisian project, PSG's management also faces competition from their Catalan counterparts, who have been eyeing Nico Williams for several weeks.

Recently, according to Mundo Deportivo, a meeting reportedly took place between Deco, FC Barcelona's sporting director, and Nico Williams' agent. The Portuguese official, who stayed in Spain to manage this matter instead of traveling to the United States for the summer tour, hopes for a positive response this week.

Therefore, PSG should soon have clarity on this potential signing. If the player’s camp gives the green light, the club will quickly approach Athletic Bilbao to finalize the deal.
