PSG stay at the Parc des Princes for the second game in a row after hosting Bayern Munich (0-1) last Tuesday. The Parsian team will try to break their three-game losing streak on Sunday hosting Lille at lunchtime for the 24th game of the Ligue 1 campaign.
With his seat getting hotter by the day, Christophe Galtier will need to start improving the form of the team as soon as possible, and there might be not a better chance to accomplish that through the first few weeks aside from beating Lille this weekend. That's because Olympique Marseille appears next on the PSG schedule with the second leg of the Champions League taking place just a few days after that game.
Galtier held a pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon in which he shared some exciting nuggets ahead of the matchup against Lille on Sunday at the Parc des Princes. Here is what the coach said.
There will be a lot of downtime between PSG matches for the remainder of the season. How important is it to you?
"Yes, but before that happens we'll host Lille. After the three defeats (Marseille, Monaco, and Bayern) we will see what happens in the coming weeks. The schedule will give us some room and there will be a Classique, but we're hoping that players who have been absent for a while can return. We have to work, work and work. Hopefully, the players who have experienced sore can also be available in the weeks before Marseille and before Nantes. It is necessary for these moments, which are difficult, to take refuge in working together. We will have a number of extra training sessions that will be welcome."
